Joyous surprise on a cloudy day

Today the cloudy weather is a stark contrast to my sunny innards. The cherry blossoms are like pink popcorn joy exploding onto the city. I have a job. Some new-to-me history books to feast my eyes and reflections upon. I am relaxing and composing with love in my heart and anxiety always.

A bouquet of love I found for you.

Inspiration.

Here's a pillow I made for Blake.

I am always surprised by the beautiful things I feel and see when visiting a small museum. Feelings complicate simplicity for me, Like viewing an image becomes a direction I'm headed. I'm happy when the image leads me down a happy path. This little museum filled my belly and my mind with joy.

Views

Hey Sarah, how 'bout sendin' me the pictures from your camera!

I would like to say some crap about particular American companies doing crappy things, outsourcing and what not....blah blah me talking about certain companies...edit...edit to make less controversy...  Also, tv's. I can't just pick on SO AND SO companies (because there are many), apparently tv's and many appliances are hard to buy American. Oh we know, American apparel, we KNOW you like to exploit young women, but in other ways. I don't really mind those ads actually. As long as people have a choice. When you learn about the history of unions, for instance, about Lowell, Massachusetts and the women and children and men who united for a bit to form a union or two, resulting in the weekend, sick pay, vacation time, workers compensation, the 8 hour work day, child labor laws....you realize the importance of unions in the shaping of American history and common workers' contribution to positive social evolution.  I could speak and speak and write and write but it doesn't do any good.  People don't give a crap about history's lessons.

The above link is about Chinese workers wishing to God they had a union.

Nope! Not sick of flowers yet.

Aren't these just darling???

Blake risked his life and reputation for plucking this little piece of sweetness in a bright yellow smile. But don't worry, he didn't steal it from anyone's garden.

My sweet friend kristi sent me a care package. I'm wearing the necklaces that came in it.

Bunny wanted to try on my horse necklace.

We spotted this out. And I had to take a picture.

More power to flowers

Cherry blossoms on trees not tattoos!

It's difficult for me to edit my pictures down since I want so desperately to share everything my eyes see with your eyes.

The flowers even bloom on the trunk and make me want to join them and put flowers in my hair.

RIP Elizabeth Taylor

So I just found out Elizabeth died and am, obviously sad about the another reminder that I'm this age and people I grew up loving are dropping like flies. (did I get that cliche right? I tend to get them mixed up.) it's the end of the world as I know it. Pop music has started sucking for me too. And I cling to the past just like those brave generations before me. I'm still not wise enough! I'm still so flawed. I killed all my thyme in warp speed. My herbal thyme is a metaphor for the real meaningful business of time. (I would actually call it accidental manslaughter or something to that affect.)

On a less heavy and sillier note, Blake texted me the news of Elizabeth's death like this, 'Elizabeth Taylor died'. But I didn't take it on it's literal meaning (or refused to believe it). I thought Blake was announcing the death of the little drama queen inside him. But then The View said something about Elizabeth Taylor and I realized I wasn't celebrating the death of a mellow dramatic superstar, but mourning it.

Here's a picture of me acting determined.

I'm trying to embrace the way I look since i'm a wise old woman now.

We love you, granny Jo!

There were many lovely flowers out today, here are the ones that really outshone their friends of flora in the pursuit of happiness.

This little guy is really hoping for some good luck. Its been so long since he had blooms or leaves he's forgotten what it feels like. We're all rooting for ya!

And then some more beautiful sidewalk art.

This particular entry is especially bright and happy for you, granny Jo! Hope you're feeling better soon.
